Q: How has Sportivo Health and Fitness inspired you to get fit?
A: I lack the discipline to work out in the gym alone. Participating in Group Power allows me to shut down and follow the instructor – All I have to do is get there and follow along. Same with Spinning – I get on the bike and go hard for 47 minutes
Q: What motivates you?
A: Good Health. I am 60, I have a resting heart beat of 62, blood pressure of 110/70 and none of the “lifestyle” illnesses that are prevalent in our society. Working out regularly allows me to maintain my fitness and health. I don’t really want to live longer but while I am on this planet I want to be able to enjoy it – being fit adds to the pleasure of living.
Q: What has been the biggest hurdle for you to overcome?
A: Before the children went off to University, I had to balance my fitness routine with theirs. At one time or another all three of my children, slept on a mat and when they reached 16 worked out with me at Sportivo. I believe that foundation has served them well. Now that they have left for school, I have no other hurdle except the traffic at Bois d’orange gap.
Q: What advice do you give others who are struggling with their goals?
A: You have to really want it! Commitment, sweat, hard work, nothing good in life is easy. Watching TV and eating chocolate is easy, being fit and health takes dedication. You can always find a reason not to come to the gym. Make fitness your most important thing in your life (unless you have Children, then it’s a tie)J)
